The Nova Scotia government has committed to protecting more public lands for the benefit of both Nova Scotians and nature and taken federal funding to do so. Yet, with pending protected areas years behind schedule, no new candidate areas identified for protection, and sneaky attempts to count other kinds of green spaces as "protected," Nova Scotia is at serious risk of not achieving this important international goal.
