An Invitation to be a Champion for Nature
Social Connectors - Joining the Movement

Nature Champions

Nature Champions are everyday trusted, respected, and connected individuals that are well know with Nova Scotia. People who are willing to help bring Nature Nova Scotia’s Culture Change for Nature initiative to life. They believe that protecting nature is not simply an environmental issue - it is about renewing our relationship with the lands, waters, species, and places that sustain our communities and shape who we are as Nova Scotians. They understand that lasting change begins when people feel connected, inspired, and invited to become part of something bigger than themselves.

Nature Champions use their voice, relationships, and influence to help shift attitudes, values, and beliefs in ways that deepen stewardship and strengthen collective responsibility. They tell stories that help people reconnect with place, reflect on our interconnectedness with nature, and reimagine our place within it - not apart from it. They spark conversations, invite participation, connect people and ideas, and inspire visible action that turns care into commitment.

Whether in communities, organizations, schools, workplaces, or everyday life, Nature Champions help strengthen a growing movement for nature. They lead by example, create space for others to join, and remind us that culture changes through relationships, shared experiences, and collective action. Together, they help build a future where enjoying, caring for, and protecting nature becomes part of who we are - and where Nova Scotia is known not only for its natural beauty, but for the leadership of its people in helping nature thrive.

If you or someone you know that would have a strong influence within the Nova Scotian community and would be open to a conversation to see if they'd like to help advance this movement, please drop us a line.
