Listening to Nova Scotians
Tapping the Wisdom of the Crowd

Real culture change begins by listening - not simply to respond, but to understand. If we are to Rethink Our Place in Nature, we must first understand how Nova Scotians think, feel, and connect with the natural world.
By tapping the wisdom of the crowd, asking thoughtful questions, and creating space for open, respectful dialogue, we discover the values, experiences, and aspirations that shape our relationship with nature. Listening across communities, generations, sectors, and cultures strengthens trust, shares leadership, and encourages collective ownership.
When people feel heard, they are far more likely to engage, contribute ideas, challenge outdated norms, and become part of the solution. By listening first, we create the conditions for meaningful conversations, stronger stewardship, and a lasting culture where caring for nature becomes a shared value embraced by all Nova Scotians.
As this movement grows, we will create many opportunities for Nova Scotians to participate, contribute ideas, and help shape the journey ahead. We look forward to listening, learning, and building this movement together - because lasting culture change is strongest when every voice has the opportunity to be heard.
The results of our first "wisdom of the crowd" survey will be coming soon.
