Nature exploration

Every one of us has a nature story worth sharing. It may be a quiet moment watching a child discover a tidepool, neighbours restoring a stream, a farmer protecting a wetland, a business choosing a more nature-positive path, or a community coming together to care for a cherished place. Whether your story is small, medium, or transformational, it has the power to move hearts and minds.

The Nature Nova Scotia Culture Change initiative - Rethinking Our Place in Nature - is built on the belief that culture changes one story at a time. Facts and science inform us, but stories help us feel. They awaken wonder, strengthen our sense of belonging, and remind us that we are not separate from nature - we are part of it. Like ripples spreading across a still lake, one story can inspire another, creating a growing wave of stewardship across Nova Scotia.

By sharing your Nature Champion story, you help make hope visible. You remind others that positive change is already happening in backyards, schools, forests, farms, shorelines, businesses, and communities throughout our province. Together, these stories create a living mosaic of people putting nature first, encouraging more Nova Scotians to see themselves not simply as observers of nature, but as active stewards helping shape a healthier, more vibrant future for generations to come.
