The Paqtnkek fruit tree, berry bush and green house food security project was first initiated in May 2025 with the planting of 125 fruit and nut trees, 275 berry bushes and a 35' greenhouse. Locations were around the nation in various setting where community members can help take care of the trees and bushes and enjoy the harvest. The project was an initiative of the health centre focussing on traditional gathering, well being and food security. The project was lead by the director of healing, the health centre and social development with support from friends from the Antigonish community.
